PREVIEW: Coventry City travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion

The Sky Blues will take on West Bromwich Albion on Friday night...

29 February 2024

Coventry City will face West Bromwich Albion on Friday evening in yet another Sky Bet Championship clash under the lights, 8pm.

Meet the Baggies:

West Bromwich Albion will come into Friday night's Sky Bet Championship meeting in an impressive run of form having been beaten just once in their last six matches.

Their recent victories over Cardiff City and Plymouth Argyle turned heads, while a 1-1 draw against fellow promotion rivals Hull City could prove vital come the end of the campaign.

They currently stand fifth in the division having conceded only 32 goals, a total bettered only by Leeds United and Leicester City.

Alex Mowatt has impressed greatly this campaign with Darnell Furlong and Okay Yokuslu also drawing great praise.

Mark Robins' pre-match verdict:

“They’re all big games, but you get to a stage when you start to run out of games.

We have 12 games left and we have to pick up points against the teams that are around us and above us and we have a few of those to play.

They’re all tough games. Tomorrow night, they’re playing particularly well at the moment.

Carlos gets his teams organised and they have some experience in their side which means they’re robust enough to keep going.

They have some injuries in the forward department, but they have willing runners, and they work really hard to deny you space and to be physical.

He got to the play-off final with Huddersfield Town before and they’re in a strong position now and things are looking up for them.

It’s a local game and one we look forward to and it’s another really good challenge for us.”
