Coventry City Academy duo Cian Harries and George Thomas both started for Wales in their 2-0 over Iceland.

Wales won the final of the International Development Tournament having already recorded a win over Northern Ireland and a draw against the Faroe Islands.

The side, managed by Geriant Williams, scored two second-half goals to seal the win at Port Talbot making the week a great experience for the City duo.

Harris and Thomas both started two games for Wales with Thomas scoring in the 1-1 draw against the Faroe Islands.

Academy's Head of Coaching Richard Stevens believes international call-up's can only continue to enhance the Academy's reputation.

Stevens said: "We have had quite a few internationals from the Academy over the years with Shaun Jeffers, Conor Thomas and others representing England at Academy level.

"It helps our reputation when players get called up to represent their country and have a successful time like Cian (Harries) and George (Thomas) have had.

"The Welsh FA have always been really keen on developing talent through from school-boy level to professional level.

"It keeps our club and Academy in the minds of those international FA's and we hope to see more players making the grade at international level in the future.

"They have done really well with both players starting two of the three matches which shows how well they have performed. The side have beat some good sides in Northern Ireland and Iceland so we are all delighted for the our players and hopefully this will help in their progression."
