Visits in support of Sky Blues in the Community projects...

The Sky Blues squad visited primary schools in Coventry today in support of Sky Blues in the Community.

Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School, St Elizabeth's Catholic Primary School and St Peter and Paul Catholic Primary School were all visited by members of the squad on Tuesday 28th November in support of the Sky Blues in the Community Move and Learn project.

Developed in partnership with the EFL Trust and Ferrero, the +Sport Move and Learn project aims to encourage healthy and active lifestyles in children. Under the banner of ‘+Sport Move and Learn’, SBitC deliver a 6 week programme of healthy lifestyle and physical activity sessions to Year 5 pupils at local schools.

Each week, children take part in a 45 minute classroom lesson where they learn about topics including exercise & fitness, the human body, diet & nutrition and hydration. This is followed by a 45 minute physical activity session with children participating in three main sports – football, handball and dodgeball.

The players made the surprise visit to meet some of the Year 5 children taking part in the project, taking part in a question and answer session with classes before joining in a PE lesson.
