Joe Murphy could miss Tranmere game

21 February 2014

The City boss has confirmed Mark Marshall and Blair Adams will return to the squad for the Rovers clash...

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has confirmed goalkeeper Joe Murphy is a doubt for tomorrow's game against Tranmere Rovers.

The ever-present City keeper will miss training today through illness and the club will make a late assessment on him tomorrow so Lee Burge is currently on stand-by.

Nathan Delfouneso is still a 'major doubt' as he recovers from a groin problem whilst Chuba Akpom will miss the game as he has been recalled by Arsenal for their FA Youth Cup fixture.

On a positive note, defender Blair Adams and winger Mark Marshall will return to the squad for the game at Prenton Park.

The City boss said: "Nathan is still a major doubt for tomorrow as is Joe Murphy who has reported in ill this morning and will not take part in training.

"Blair is fine and he trained on Wednesday. He looks fresh so he will come straight into the squad for the game.

"We're also going to bring Mark Marshall back into the group. He hasn't had much training time over the last couple of weeks but due to the circumstances, he'll be back with the group.

"It is difficult at the moment but the situation is what it is. We will find the solution within our own group."
