Sky Blues in the Community take Sky Blues Sam for a day out at the UK Corporate Games

Sky Blues in the Community were flying the flag for Coventry City this weekend, organising the football competitions at the UK Corporate Games which took place at venues across Coventry from Thursday to Sunday.

The UK Corporate Games welcomed over 4,000 participants to Coventry, taking part in 22 sports. The Sky Blues in the Community team were well represented, with 15 members of staff giving up their weekend to coordinate the football competitions at Warwick University’s Cryfield Pavilion, with Sky Blue Sam also on hand to meet the players on Saturday at the event.

Over 75 teams entered the 5, 6 and 11-a-side competitions with more than 700 players taking part. Joint Head of Sky Blues in the Community David Busst said: “The event was very well organised, bringing a lot of people into Coventry. Sky Blues in the Community were really pleased to be asked to be involved in the games and we also looked at using it as a team building exercise for our staff.

“Everyone who was involved in the Corporate Games seemed to enjoy themselves, so all in all it was a great success.”
