Pre-season injury update

18 July 2013

Leon Clarke and Adam Barton expected to feature at the weekend

Sky Blues duo Leon Clarke and Adam Barton are expected to return to the fold for the Sky Blues at the weekend when the club cap off their pre-season tour of Holland with a friendly against Heracles Almelo.

The pair missed out on Thursday night's friendly clash with Willem II as a precautionary measure due to a respective tight hamstring and calf but both should play a chunk of Saturday's fixture with the Dutch top flight side.

Clarke added a third goal to his pre-season tally on Tuesday night with a strike against TSV Wachtendonk to add to the pair he got in the club's 4-1 win over Nuneaton Town.

The remainder of the City squad came through the clash with Willem II unscathed including defender Jordan Willis who gave manager Steven Pressley a boost by returning to action after recovering from a swollen knee.

Pressley said: "We have to manage Jordan through. He missed a couple of days training but he got his first 45 minutes under his belt and we'll build that up again on Saturday where he'll probably get 60 minutes so that's a real positive."
