City boss hails the 'pivotal' impact the Sky Blue Army have had on his team and their style of play

Coventry City boss Steven Pressley has seen out 2013 with a thank you to Sky Blues fans ahead of the New Year's Day clash at Rotherham United.

City travel to the New York Stadium on Wednesday afternoon hoping to kick off 2014 with a win but Pressley said he wanted to thank Sky Blues fans for their 'pivotal role' in helping his side produce the entertaining football that has lifted them into the top half of the League One table.

"The fans and their support has been absolutely brilliant and I want to thank them for that and the way they have been with the team. They've been pivotal in us playing the kind of football that we've been playing because they've been so supportive of a young team," he said.

Pressley added that while he has not set any specific targets for 2014 he does want to see the continuation of the improvement his side has shown throughout the campaign so far.

"I've never actually had real targets, infact the only one is to see continual improvement and as long as I see that I'll be satisfied."
