Robins relishing Spurs clash

City boss looking forward to FA Cup third round clash with Spurs at White Hart Lane

Coventry City boss Mark Robins is relishing the prospect of taking on Tottenham in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Sky Blues will travel to White Hart Lane on the first weekend in January for a repeat of the 1987 FA Cup final.

Robins said the only disappointment was that the tie would not be played in front of the City fans at the Ricoh.

"This is a really good cup tie," he said. "Yes we wanted to be at home, but we now have the chance to play against one of the top sides in Europe who are steeped in FA Cup history and we will be relishing that chance.

"It will certainly be a good day out for our supporters. There are always surprises in the Third Round of the FA Cup and we have to hope that we can be one of them.

"We have been to Arsenal this season and acquitted ourselves well, but we want to avoid a repeat of the scoreline.

"The 1987 Cup final was a real classic and I remember it very well indeed. I am sure this will bring back some memories for our supporters."
