A letter from Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray ahead of the 2015/16 season

25 July 2015

The City boss has penned a letter to supporters ahead of the 2015/16 campaign...

Dear Supporter,

Firstly, I'd like to personally thank every supporter who has already purchased a season ticket and backed the team for the upcoming season.

It has been a positive pre-season so far with Marcus Tudgay, Reda Johnson and Ivor Lawton all signing extended deals with the club, as well as the signings of Chris Stokes, Sam Ricketts, who
captained Wolverhampton Wanderers to the League One title, and Romain Vincelot, who joined for an undisclosed fee from Leyton Orient.

If we're to have a successful season and push for promotion like we'd all love to see us achieve, these are exactly the type of players who will get us there.

As I've mentioned recently and our pre-season games have shown, there are still areas of the squad I would like to add to before the start of the new season, particularly in the forward areas.

We're currently working on a number of deals to help strengthen our squad before the start of the season and fire us up the league.

In football, the club's budget and the calibre of player you bring in depends on the revenue it generates and Season Tickets have been a huge factor in resourcing our playing budget.

We'd like to continue to bring in a high calibre of player and this would definitely be helped by yourself committing to us for the 2015/16 season. It is going to be a real team effort and for us to be successful, we need you to join us on this journey.

It will include ups and downs. That’s football, but you need to go through the disappointments to achieve a successful result and I want you to be a part of that journey.

It isn’t all about the revenue and budget though. I’m right when I say the staff, players and everyone connected with the club would love to see the Ricoh Arena as full as possible, generating an atmosphere which would make it difficult for any visiting team.

Too many times in recent history, in the Championship and League One, teams have enjoyed their trip to the Ricoh Arena. This needs to change. Generally, teams which secure promotion are the teams who count on their home form, and more importantly, their home support. We need to recreate that atmosphere which has seen the likes of Bristol City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday all achieve promotion from the third tier.

A lot of work is going on behind the scenes and we're not only planning to have a successful season but a great future, and we'd love for you to be there to see it.

As always, thanks for your continued support,
