HEAD TO HEAD: Port Vale v Coventry City - Three wins out of the last four for City against the Valiants

6 February 2016

The Sky Blues have won three out of the last four games between the sides and will be looking to make it four out of five...

Coventry City take on Port Vale in the League One clash on Sunday, as City  get closer to edging the Vale in the all time head to head record.

City have won nine times out of the 28 games played between the sides, the last victory coming on Boxing day last year, while the Valiants have won 12.

Nine draws have been played between the clubs, the last of which coming in March 2014 at Sixfields when the Sky Blues came from two goals down to score a last minute equaliser as the game finished 2-2.

The last meeting between the two sides was on boxing day last year. A James Maddison strike ten minutes from time handed City the three points.

The first meeting was 95 years ago in 1920, when the two sides played out a 0-0 draw at Highfield Road. The record victory achieved by City over the Vale is 4-1, achieved just a year later in 1921.

With both sides scoring in a game only six times in the last 10 and two draws in the last six games, it promises to be a tight game at Vale Park.

With City winning the last fixture, the Sky Blues will be looking to continue their winning streak against on Sunday.
