The Sky Blues striker netted twice at Bramall Lane but said that didn't make up for City losing two points...

Coventry City striker Dominic Samuel revealed that the dressing room are eager to fight to get the Sky Blues out of the bottom four.

City slipped into 21st place with the 2-2 draw against Sheffield United, but do have a game in hand over Colchester United who sit a point above the Sky Blues.

Samuel, who netted twice at Bramall Lane, added that while it was nice to get on the scoresheet, it doesn't make up for the two points dropped at Bramall Lane.

"It's always good to score, but the main thing is to win," Samuel said.

"Unfortunately we didn't win and we're all disappointed in the dressing room.

"It's never the best mood when you don't win, but we're strong, we'll talk it out and see how we can improve.

"We're going to keep fighting for the points and to improve our position. The games are coming thick and fast, there is no time to waste.

"We're a good squad and we will work tirelessly to get out of the bottom four."

Despite the result, Samuel showed his sharpness in front of goal with two well taken strikes against the Blades.

Netting a goal in each half, Samuel was pleased to take his tally to three goals in four games for City but maintains the side should have taken three points after being 2-0 up.

Samuel continued: "Not every chance will go in but you've got to keep going. You've got to stay calm as a striker, particularly as the team relies on you for goals.

"The first goal was a great clearance from Jamie - I knew he was going to hit me. I had two on the back but I was confident I had them for pace, so he put me on my bike and I was delighted.

"As a striker you've got to make sure always on your toes and the second goal proved that, I missed the first but got to the rebound first.

"We definitely should have seen the game out today. Of course we can come out of this with some positives but we're disappointed to come out with just a draw."
