Coventry City's latest signing Aaron Martin expressed his delight at finally securing a permanent deal with the Sky Blues and has set his sights on a push for the League One play-offs in 2015.Martin has joined from Yeovil Town on an 18-month contract and the 25-year old is hoping to add to a Sky Blues defence that has kept five clean sheets in eight games.
Speaking to Sky Blues Player, Martin said: "It's been a long time coming, I'm absolutely delighted to have signed permanently.
"The manager was a big reason for me joining, he gives me confidence and I think that shows by the way I have been playing. I now want to keep that going for the rest of the season.
"I realise that there is going to be competition for places, the young boys at the back have done absolutely brilliantly. There is a real understanding and the Walsall game was a great example of that."
City take on Swindon Town on Monday at the Ricoh Arena and Martin recognises the test that the Robins will pose, but is confident of the Sky Blues' chances.
A win could push City closer to the play-offs, something that Martin believes the side should be pushing for in 2015.
He continued: "Everybody is happy after the Walsall result, we can't wait for the next game.
"Sky will be there and there will be a lot of people watching us, we want to give a good account of ourselves.
"It will be a tough test for us but if we keep it tight at the back then there is no reason why we can't win the game.
"We want to keep winning games now and aim for the play offs. For the rest of the season we want to keep going and keep up our form, we've lost two in the last ten.
"We want to get promoted now and to do that we have to win games, starting with Swindon on Monday and then keep going."
