Coventry City signed midfielder Gustavo Hamer from Dutch side PEC Zwolle, making him the first man to walk through the door during the 2020/21 season.
The Brazilian-born midfielder moved to Holland as a youngster, signing for Feyenoord, where he rose through the ranks, eventually making his debut against Ajax in 2017.
Following a loan spell with Dordrecht in the Eerste Divisie, Gustavo joined PEC Zwolle, where he made 50 appearances, scoring four goals in two seasons.
Growing up in Holland, Hamer has also gone on to represent the Dutch at youth level, featuring for their under-18s and under-20s.
Upon his arrival in England, Hamer stood-out in the early months of the season as his performances helped the Sky Blues win points in the Championship and his goals and chances created were contributing to that.
He would make 43 appearances in his first season in England, scoring five goals along the way, including the clubs Goal of the Season with a header from 25 yards-out against Watford at Vicarage Road.
Gus became a fans favourite during his first season playing in front of the Coventry supporters, as his stellar campaign saw him named the Sky Blues Player of the Season for the 2021/22, as voted by the City supporters.
