Fabio Tavares agreed to join the Sky Blues from Rochdale during the January Transfer Window of January 2021.

Having joined Rochdale in 2016, the Portuguese born striker would make his professional debut during a League One clash against Wycombe Wanderers in 2019.

Tavares didn’t have to wait long for his first goal, as he scored in a memorable 3-1 win over Bolton Wanderers at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Fabio was then sent out on loan to Curzon Ashton at the end of the 2019/20 season, before returning to Rochdale the following campaign and making a further 18 appearances in League One, before joining the Sky Blues.

Tavares was an unused substitute in several games following his arrival, featuring predominantly in the Under-23s, where he scored a hat-trick and assists two goals in a 6-1 win over Cardiff City.
