Dacosta joined City following the expiry of his contract with French Ligue 2 side, FC Chamois Niort.
Born in Marseille, Julien joined his hometown club as a youngster, developing in the academy of Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille. In 2017, the full back moved to Chamois Niort, where he established himself at right-back and made 80 appearances in all competitions.
Dacosta then departed for the Sky Blues in 2020, agreeing a three-year-deal, before being hit with an injury blow in pre-season which would keep him out for up to four months.
The defender had to work his way back to fitness and get minutes in the tank to get back to match fitness during the season.
After an impressive cameo appearance off the bench against Nottingham Forest, Dacosta forced his way into the side, eventually making 19 appearances in all competitions.
The following campaign, Dacosta made a handful of appearances before moving to SC Portimonese in Portugal on loan for the second half of the season.
He is currently out on loan with League One side Shrewsbury Town.
