INTERVIEW: Ephron Mason-Clark discusses his excitement at beginning his journey with Coventry City

The winger joins from Peterborough United...

23 May 2024

After completing a move to the Sky Blues on Deadline Day back in January, Ephron Mason-Clark finally gave his first interview with Coventry City.

The winger linked back up with Peterborough United following the completion of his deal, where he spent the remainder of the 2023/24 season.

Ephron would go on to help Posh win the EFL Trophy at Wembley, as well as a top six finish in League One.

Now that his time with Peterborough is done, we caught up with Mason-Clark, as he looked back on his season just gone and preparing for life with the Sky Blues from next season.

Looking back at last season with Peterborough…

“It wasn’t the way I wanted it to end, but it was nothing but positive. It was a good season for me personally and the team I was part of, so I can’t really complain with how the season went.

“(Winning the EFL Trophy) Having, not just my family, but the other players families there and to leave with some silverware is always positive.”

A superb season in front of goal…

“I definitely looked at how I was playing in the previous season, and I wanted to add to that in terms of goals and assists and the numbers I did hit were really positive for me.”

Keeping an eye on how Coventry were doing…

“I saw how well they were doing over the season and especially that FA Cup run they had.

“I was fully focused on my time at Peterborough, but I did have a little eye on what Coventry were getting up to.”

Seeing the Sky Blue supporters in the FA Cup semi-final…

“Watching the game from home, you could see how lively the fans were and that’s something I want to experience and entertain them in the future.”

Catching up with Ben Sheaf, Ellis Simms, Haji Wright and Milan van Ewijk for the season ticket launch…

“Speaking to those boys it was all positive and it was really good to see those players, that hopefully I am going to be playing with.”

An easy decision to join Coventry…

“For me it was a really easy decision. Speaking to the manager, it was something that I wanted to be part of.

“Seeing how the team plays is something was something I wanted to join and take my game to the next level.”

Taking the next step with the Sky Blues…

“Each step has moulded me into the person I am today and hopefully this next journey can further that as well.

“I’m just preparing myself mentally and physically for a tough league.”

Excitement to get started…

“I can’t wait to impress and work hard for the team and not just the fans but my teammates and the staff as well.

“I really can’t wait to get started.”
