PREVIEW: Sky Blues host Leicester City at the Coventry Building Society Arena

The Foxes arrive at the CBS Arena...

12 January 2024

The Sky Blues return to Championship action this weekend, as they entertain Leicester City Coventry Building Society Arena in the M69 Derby.

Meet Leicester City:

Having spent nine consecutive seasons in the Premier League, as well as winning the competition on 2016, Leicester City were relegated to the Championship on the final day of the 2022/23 season.

Dean Smith departed the club and Enzo Maresca arrived as he was tasked with the job of guiding the Foxes back to the Premier League.

With 21 wins from 26 league games, Leicester sit top of the Championship, ten points clear of second place Ipswich Town.

Summer signing Stephy Mavididi tops the goal scoring charts for the Foxes with nine goals in all competitions, and he and his manager were recently named Player and Manager of the Month for December.

Opposition View:

Enzo Maresca

"He’s (Mark Robins) already been there for many years, and he did a fantastic job last year, nearly getting to the Premier League. They are on the same path this year, starting slowly and playing very well now. He’s doing a great job there.

"I think, when you have time to work with the team as a manager, you always try to improve your team and I think we have improved. But we still have many more things to do."

Mark Robins

“We will need a top performance tomorrow and we will need to score more than once maybe, because it will be no easy feat, but it’s a game we’re really looking forward to.

“We want to go and play in our way and the way we can do and impose ourselves when and where we can, but we’re under no illusions they’re a really good side.”
