PREVIEW: City make the trip to the bet365 Stadium

The Sky Blues take on the Potters this weekend...

16 February 2024

The Sky Blues take on the Potters in their second consecutive away fixture this weekend in Sky Bet Championship action (3pm).

Meet the Potters:

A difficult season for Stoke City has seen them struggle to find form on a consistent basis, winning just three of their last 18 games.

The Potters dismissed Alex Neil midway through the campaign in search of a change of fortune, turning to former Plymouth Argyle manager, Steven Schumacher.

However, despite a five-game unbeaten start to life in Staffordshire, four defeats on the bounce saw Stoke slide down the table, hovering above the bottom three places.

Victory last time out against Queesn Park Rangers has lifted fears as they moved six points clear of the relegation zone.

Goals have been hard to come by so far this season, with only the bottom three sides, Queens Park Rangers, Rotherham United and Sheffield Wednesday scoring fewer goals.

Sky Blues' last six:

  • Plymouth Argyle 2-2 Coventry City
  • Coventry City 2-1 Millwall
  • Coventry City 4-1 Sheffield Wednesday
  • Norwich City 2-1 Coventry City
  • Coventry City 2-2 Bristol City
  • Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Coventry City

Stoke City’s last six:

  • Stoke City 1-0 Queens Park Rangers
  • Blackburn Rovers 3-1 Stoke City
  • Stoke City 0-5 Leicester City
  • Sunderland 3-1 Stoke City
  • Stoke City 1-2 Birmingham City
  • Rotherham United 0-1 Stoke City
