NEWS: New seating configuration to be trialled versus Preston, including Sky Blues fans in South Stand

12 February 2024

Coventry City will be trialling a new configuration for the South Stand from the home game against Preston North End.

The new configuration will see away supporters moved to the right corner of the South Stand, being housed in Blocks 6, 7 and 8.

This will then allow Sky Blues supporters in Blocks 10 to 12 of the South Stand, increasing the home capacity.

The Sky Blues & the Coventry Building Society Arena have been working to reduce the segregation between home and away supporters and to increase home capacity ahead of next season, with this being the next stage of this process.

While there remains some restrictions on opening the entire stand to a mix of home and away fans due to the current South Stand concourse configuration, this trial will allow the Club and Arena to continue work in this area.

John Taylor, Chief Operating Officer at Coventry City, said:

“We’re pleased to confirm that we have been able to open these Blocks to Sky Blues supporters for the game against Preston North End on a trial basis with this new configuration of the South Stand.

“I know this has been an on-going issue for a number of years, and this is the next stage in the process to come to a solution on this and this will hopefully help to further improve the matchday experience for supporters.

“It will be great to see home fans behind the goal in the South Stand and we hope the trial will prove successful.”

Tickets are on sale now for the South Stand for home supporters via eticketing.co.uk/CCFC and from the Ticket Office.
