Luis Binks gave an honest assessment after the Sky Blues fell to defeat to Preston North End at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Three first-half goals took the game away from the Sky Blues, as they were unable to come from behind.

Speaking after the game, Binks reflected on the proceedings.

The performance and the result…

“You cannot hide the fact, everyone saw we were not at it today. We did not start well enough.

“They are an experienced side and we made them look like that.

“They were first to every ball and there is no hiding from the fact we were not at it. It is tough to do this (interview) because what can I say?

“Everyone knows it, everyone saw it. We just were not at our level.”

Conceding in the first minute…

“Once you do that, you can either go under or come back from it and we went under.

“There is not much to say."

The second goal…

“They came with a press and it was difficult to play out.

“But we cannot just use that as an excuse. We have got to go find a way.

“We had a chance to clear it but we did not. After two (goals) I did not think the game is done there.

“You can go two ways and we went under.”

The Sakamoto injury…

“He has done his back. Obviously, he hurt himself and it is another big loss.

“Another loss we cannot afford because there is too many players out. It now becomes difficult.”

On the half time changes…

“Jay (Dasilva) came off but it could have been any one of us. None of us were at our level and he could have made any change.”

On the league position…

“Now obviously it hurts and it is disappointing but we have got to learn from this and look forward.

“It is another game where we need to look at it. We cannot look over the fact that we were not good enough today.

“12 games to go, but we are still in the (play-off) race.”
