Liam Kitching is aiming to help the Sky Blues maintain their recent unbeaten run, as they come up against Norwich City this weekend.

The Sky Blues remain unbeaten in their last 12 fixtures in all competitions, coinciding with their climb up the Championship table and into the top six.

Kitching has been at the heart of defence alongside Bobby Thomas and Luis Binks during that run, as the City side gel together.

Liam spoke on how him and his teammates continue to gel and how relationship off the pitch and have helped with performances on it.

The signing of Ephron Mason-Clark…

“I played against him a few times for Barnsley and he’s a very positive attacking winger and personally I wouldn’t like to mark him.

“I think he will be a great addition for us come next season.”

The secret behind the unbeaten run…

“Training hard every day and working hard and I think the last 12 games we’ve shown how strong and good our squad is and that we can be a really good team.

“It’s always nice to stay unbeaten and keep this run going. It gives us a lot of positive energy going into the next game to try and keep the run going.”

Kyle McFadzean’s departure…

“He’s been brilliant, and he will be a big miss, but that’s football and it happens, we have to move on, but I’m sure I will stay in touch with him.

“We travelled in together every day and helped me quite a lot and he’s a fellow Yorkshireman so we’re quite close and quite similar, so I will keep in touch with him.”

Relationship from previous clubs with Brad Collins and Bobby Thomas…

“I think it helps. There were quite a few new faces in the building this year, so it takes a bit of time to gel, but I think you can see it’s coming together.

“With Bobby and Brad, I spent a lot of time with them last year and they’re my close friends, so I think that helps on and off the pitch, but we haven’t had a clean sheet for a while, so we’re looking to improve on that and build.”

Biding his time for a place in the side…

“When my time came, I was always going to try and grab it with two hands and I’m really enjoying my time here and the staff and the fans are amazing.

“We’ve sold out again for Norwich tomorrow and it just shows how incredible the fans are and we’re going to try and give everything to get the three points for them to keep this run going.”

Coming up against Norwich…

“Every game is massive, when they come round at this stage of the season it shows where we’re at, but we’re already for the challenge and hopefully we can come away with the three points.”

Partnership at the back with Bobby Thomas…

“It helps we’ve known each other for a while now and we have a great relationship off the pitch as well.

“When it comes to game time, we tune each other in and sometimes when we’re arguing we know what’s best for each other and we just try and help each other.

“We have winning mentalities, and we just want to do well for this football club and we need to stay positive and keep helping each other like I said.”
