COMMUNITY: Support Winnie's challenge to visit 100 care homes, hospitals and schools!

27 February 2024

Join us in supporting Sky Blues in the Community's heartwarming initiative to bring comfort and happiness to those who need it most.

Winnie, our Sky Blues therapy dog, will soon commence her adventure by visiting 100 care homes, hospitals, and schools across Coventry and Warwickshire to provide emotional and social support to the most vulnerable.

Your generous donations will help fund this vital work, secure new equipment and ensure the continuation and enhancement of the already existing SBitC Dementia Active Project, as well as blind and partially sighted football sessions for young people, cancer support walking football sessions and other essential projects SBitC provide that benefit Coventry and Warwickshire's most vulnerable residents.

Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need. Join us in spreading hope and companionship through Winnie's journey across 2024.

SBitC's projects which provide much needed support in the community include:

Dementia Active - a free weekly session held in Coventry, Nuneaton and Warwick for those with a dementia diagnosis or memory loss and their carers to partake in regular physical activity which includes various multi-sports such as soft archery, football and badminton at their own pace. Refreshments such as tea, coffee & biscuits and weekly interactive quizzes are provided which offer a social element for people to relax and create meaningful friendships.

Blind and Partially Sighted Football - SBitC will be providing new football and activity sessions for young people aged beween 8-18 years old. The aim of the sessions are to provide a safe space to stay active, targeted and tailored sessions to meet the needs of participants and to progress with football, meet new people and develop friendships.

Walking Football - SBitC provide walking football sessions for participants over 50, where you can come and play at a more relaxed pace, have fun and socialise. SBitC also run walking football sessions for men living with and beyond cancer.
