The gaffer gives his thoughts after the final whistle...

Coventry City boss Mark Robins revealed his disappointment that his side were unable to prevent Southampton from taking a two-goal lead into the break at St Mary's with the Sky Blues falling to a 2-1 defeat on the road.

On the result:

The first half killed us really. We didnt start very well at all but ended up getting a penalty - and hitting the bar with that was the begining of the first half and it wasn't a good first half by any sretch of the imagination.

We looked out of sorts and we looked leggy. We have to be better than that. If we are aspiring to be a team that operates at the top of the divison we have to be better than that.

They have top players, there's no doubt. We spoke at half time and the players decided that they were going to be better after that.

The second goal killed us but we were always in the game. Had we scored the penalty it could have been different, maybe level at the break.

After the break it was better but that's no consolation because of what happened in the first.

On the flow of the game, the missed penalty, and the three goals:

Yeah, Haji was unlucky. He slipped and it hit the bar.

Their first goal was handball. It happens but we weren't at our best and we needed to be. The second was a poor goal to concede.

We looked like we had low confidence, which is ridiculous. We need to demand more from eachother and we did that after the break, and with that came chances.

The goal we scored was really good and the chances freshened things up and did more for us.

I thought we were unlucky at times, Ellis Simms was unlucky. We were more in the game after the break which was a positive.

I thoguht Tavares did really well with a few really good deliveries, one to Haji and the one for the goal.

I've spoken to Haji about where he can improve but that's the evolution, that's the next thing for him. He is tall and powerful and needs to use his body better.

On Milan van Ewijk's injury:

He ran into the goalkeeper and the goalkeper winded him.
