Following the recent meeting held by the Club and Level Playing Field, for our disabled supporters and their carers, we are keen to get the Disabled Supporters Association (DSA) up and running.
During the forum, we discussed how the DSA will advocate for inclusivity and representation within the Football Club. The next phase of this journey involves the formation of a holding committee for the DSA and there are several roles up for grabs. This committee will be vital in steering the association toward its goals and objectives.
In consultation with Liam at Level Playing Field, the holding committee are seeking enthusiastic individuals to take up various roles on the committee. The available positions are as follows:
- Chair
- Vice Chair
- Secretary
- Social Media Manager
- General Committee Members (up to 8 positions)
Liam at Level Playing Field has advised capping the general committee member numbers to 8. This is to ensure agility and enable swift decisions.
Please remember that your voice matters even if you are not on the committee. Your input will actively be sought, and your feedback will be through various channels, fostering inclusivity and collaboration.
To begin this process, we have contacted our Disabled supporters who want to be involved, to nominate yourself for a position of choice - this deadline is Sunday 17th September.
When nominating, please
- Briefly describe yourself
- Explain your motivation for applying for the role
- How your skills and experiences align with the DSA's mission of better access and inclusion of disabled supporters, attending a match day at Coventry City and support and assistance for attending away games.
Nominations will then be circulated out for a vote on Monday 18th September.
If anyone has not received the original email sent from our Disabled Liaison Officer, Jodie Jones, please email: Jodie.jones@ccfc.co.uk so that you can be added to the DSA mailing list and be kept up to date with the nominations, voting and meeting dates for the future.
