Kyle McFadzean gave his thoughts on what he described as a disappointing night at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
City fell to defeat, but the defender was keen to not dwell on the result and rather focus on putting things right and bouncing back.
Reflecting on the result…
“Disappointing again but we cannot dwell on it, we just have to bounce back and put in a big performance on Saturday.
“I do not think they were that much better than us tonight, they just scored and defended better.
“We did not start very well but after those ten minutes, we were comfortable and obviously if we score, we go in at halftime 1-1 and it is a different second half.”
Looking back at the last week…
“Well Rotherham was unacceptable. We were rubbish second half at Rotherham, but I think we need to take our chances when we are on top. We have given too many sloppy goals away and another two tonight, but I think the second one was offside. We cannot just rely on fourth officials these days.
“We have got to stick together. We are a new group but we cannot keep saying that now. We have been together for quite a bit. It is the little things we need to improve on, and we will work on them this week.”
“I think we have scored quite a lot of goals but not in the last three games. We have had a lot of chances and I could understand why if were not creating chances. But we are and we should not be that too disappointed in that sense.”
Haji Wright going close to scoring…
“He just needs to keep going. He has been unlucky and they will come. He scores them all day long in training so I am sure he will score when he plays next time.
“It is a big change for him, he has travelled over with his wife and child, still settling in and sometimes it can take time. Like I said, once he gets his confidence up, he will be flying because we see him in training.
“He is a quality player and his finishing is really good. Hopefully it can happen soon.”
On Callum returning…
“It is tough for Callum because he has not played much minutes and it is hard to get him out there in the Under 21s but he has been training really hard and I am happy to have him back obviously.”
The back three…
“I feel it has been alright but people need to perform and make them their spots. I am not saying people have not, but if they’d not want to get changed, they need to perform.
“The same goes for myself, if I want to play, I need to perform. I need to get back on it. We are not far away but there are certain areas.”
Preston away next…
“They are a bogey side but we need to stick together and fight for the shirt and fight for this club. We will do.
“I know people will not be expecting us to win but we want to and we will try to. We will go up there and give it a good go, like we do every week.
“It will be a great atmosphere, our fans will be unbelievable as always and we need to give them something to shout about.”
