Jamie Allen is looking to make it a 'perfect week' when City take on Norwich at the Coventry Building Society Arena this weekend.
The midfielder returned to the starting eleven against Queens Park Rangers last week and then Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday, picking up back-to-back wins.
Allen, who missed pre-season and the start to the season with a heart issue, something he said has cleared up now, as he looks to focus on getting back to playing football.
Happy to be back out there again…
“Definitely. I had a long period out and missed pre-season and stuff like that so I'm happy to be back playing.
“It's been quite tough obviously, I didn't expect to be playing as long as I've been doing, but I felt I've coped with it well, and we've got the two results that we wanted.
“Hopefully we can bring it into tomorrow's game and make it a perfect week.”
How he felt coming back into the side against QPR last week…
“I felt I played well in what was my first start of the season.
“I’m just getting back into it, and I got an assist against QPR, so I'm happy with that because it was a good move.
“We started from the back, and we played some good football and Ellis put it away.”
Getting up to speed and learning new player’s games…
“I think it takes time for everyone to be fair.
“Obviously, the lads have had a lot more time than I have. But I've felt like I've got used to them quickly and hopefully we can carry all these good results into this final game before the international break.
“My seasons only just started right now so hopefully we can get on a run and keep playing good football and keep getting them results in and hopefully we can climb the table.”
Finding out he had a heart issue in the summer…
“I found out midway through the summer, not long after the playoffs.
“I started feeling a bit weird in myself and then one day I just got some pains in my chest and I just took myself to the doctors to get it checked and that’s when they found out.
“But it's done with now and I want to focus on the games now.”
Waiting to be given the all clear…
“I had to be patient. I mean, you can't rush things like this.
“I have good people around me giving me good information, so as soon as they were happy for me to be back training and so was I so and then I've gone from strength to strength really.”
Coming up against Norwich…
“We've had a tough few years against them. But hopefully, we've had these two good results and hopefully we will be full confidence coming into Saturday's game and hopefully we can end up having the perfect week.”
Last time out against Blackburn…
“Obviously, it wasn’t one of the best games we've played with, we didn’t have a lot of possession or anything like that.
“But once we scored that goal the noise from the fans, was really good and it's no surprise really they've been brilliant for us since I’ve been here.”
