REPORT: Sheffield United U21s 4-4 Coventry City U21s

Coventry City Under-21s were held to a 4-4 draw by Sheffield United on Friday night as Callum O'Hare and Liam Kelly both clocked important minutes during the International Break.

It was anything but an ideal start for the young Sky Blues, as Sheffield United took an early lead through Antwoine Hackford as the Blades striker arrived at the back post to tap in from close range.

However, City looked the better side and responded instantly when Marco Rus crossed low for teenager Aidan Dausch to force home with confidence.

Dausch's second goal was the pick of the bunch, when the striker flicked the ball over the head of a Blades defender and found the bottom corner with class to hand the young Sky Blues a 2-1 lead.

City extended their lead midway through the first half when Rus, making his return from injury in Chesterfield, placed a delicate lob over the head of the Sheffield United goalkeeper and into the net from range - a truly stunning effort.

But John Dempster's side were not going to have an easy night against their division's table-toppers, as the Blades pulled one back just before the interval to make it 2-3.

City would restore their two-goal lead after the break through Callum Perry and almost made it five just minutes later when Kelly saw an audacious chip from range pushed wide.

However, a late Sheffield United fight-back saw the hosts level the game with two goals in just two minutes.

O'Hare played the full 90 minutes in Sky Blue, a fine milestone, while Kelly managed 70 before being replaced by Elliot Betjemann.

Sky Blues Goals: Dausch (13', 25'), Rus (38'), Perry (53').

Sky Blues Under-21s XI: Simon Moore (GK), Dermi Lusala, Riccardo Di Trolio, Luis Binks, Callum Perry, Liam Kelly (Elliot Betjemann 71'), Marco Rus (Kai Andrews 45'), Evan Eghosa, Bradley Stretton, Aidan Dausch, Callum O'Hare.

Subs: Trialist (GK), Jayden Smith, Rylie Siddall.
