There’s a new look for our mascot Sky Blue Sam!
Being showcased for the first time at tonight’s game against Plymouth Argyle, everyone’s favourite mascot has been away to the place where mascots go to relax and get smartened up – and he’s come back refreshed and looking better than ever!
Sky Blue Sam first joined Coventry City in 1969 but initially wasn’t seen ‘in person’ at games – just in our matchday programme. That changed in the 1990s when he was first spotted at Highfield Road and he has been a popular and ever-present part of our matchdays since then, saying hello to fans of all ages and making sure he stops for plenty of high-fives and photos too.
Sky Blue Sam said:
“I’m so excited to unveil my new look to Sky Blues supporters!
“After a spell away being pampered over the international break, I feel like a totally new elephant!
“I’m the same Sam as I’ve always been – here to support the Sky Blues and to meet all of the fans.
“I can’t wait to see you all on Tuesday night!”
Jodie Jones, Head of Supporter Services and Fan Experience, said:
“Sky Blue Sam remains a hugely popular part of the Club and we’re thrilled to showcase Sam’s new look.
“It was important that he got refreshed and reinvigorated, while making sure that Sam remains the same elephant that we have all known and loved over the years.”
Supporters can buy their own Sam in the Superstore and online as part of our new plush toy range – with new Large and Small sized Sams available to buy now.
