INTERVIEW: Haji Wright talks goals, small margins and supporters backing

Haji Wright believes small margins are the difference at the moment, as City suffered defeat on the road.

The striker was amongst the goals, scoring twice against Preston, but they would prove to be consolation goals only.

Speaking after the final whistle, Wright said things will turn round, as City look to bounce back.

Thoughts on the game...

“It was a difficult game. I think in the first half they played really well, and we weren't able to really stop their rhythm and flow in the game.

“We got a goal and went ahead of them, but it was difficult they came back with two goals in quick succession.

“I think we should have done better on both of the goals. I think the second half we started the second half really well.

“We started doing what we wanted to do, and we all came together as a team, put a lot of pressure on them and then unfortunately, they got the third goal. I felt like all in all we kept pushing and showed a lot of good character.”

Looking back on their goals...

“Yeah, I think we changed momentum after we got our goal and had the momentum on our side and then once they equalised and went ahead, they got more confident, and it changed the game in their way.

“Small margins. I think it's difficult to say exactly what the problem is.”

Change at half time and formation...

“I think it helped get pressure on the other team and helped us attack with more players in the box.

“I think it helped us get more control of the game and a lot of ways.”

I guess for you it was the right place at right at the right time for both of them...

“Yeah, they were good strikes, by Matty and Josh and I was just able to follow up and get two easy tap ins.”

What's the mood like in the dressing room at the minute...

“It's good.

“We're all hungry for success. I think we all want to win every game we know what we have to do to win every game and we go out every day in training and to every match with a good mentality.”

Looking to the next few games...

“Yeah, I figure once we fix everything up, it's not like we're being dominated in all these games that we're losing. It's small margins, and we're losing by one, two goals.

“Then every game we've lost we've been in the game, hopefully once the tide turns we'll start picking up wins and everything will change.”

Message for the fans...

“Yeah, they're amazing. Travelling support has always been something that's astonishing to me. I think the home games they go without saying, they're amazing, but even on the away days, when it's rainy and cold like this. They're all there supporting us and it's just amazing.”
