The Sky Blues Under-21s will face Stourbridge in the Birmingham Senior Cup Final tonight (7:45pm KO) as they look to lift silverware for a second successive season.
Route to the Final:
The Sky Blues entered the competition in the Second Round, when they were handed an away tie against Tawmorth at the Lamb Ground.
City fell behind, but Ryan Howley equalised just before half-time and the Fabio Tavares hit a brace, before Tom Costello struck in injury time.
In the Third Round, City ran rampant at Coleshill Town, coming from behind to hit the Non-League outfit for six. Will Bapaga claimed the plaudits, firing in a second half hat-trick, alongside goals from Marco Rus, Justin Obikwu and Ricardo Dinanga.
City then had a more difficult task in the next round, as they needed penalties to get past Coventry Sphinx. Tom Costello had put City in front, but they were pegged back midway through the second half.
The game went all the way to penalties and it would be Tristen Batanwi who would hit the decisive penalty, after Callum Martin missed.
Then, the Sky Blues entertained Alvechurch in the semi-final at the Coventry Building Society Arena and they raced into a 3-0 lead. Batanwi, Obikwu and Danny Cashman found the back of the net, before Alvechurch put a spirited fight, scoring twice late on.
