NEWS: Fans reminded not go on the pitch before, during or after Sunday's game

11 May 2023

Coventry City are reminding fans not to enter the pitch on Sunday – before, during or after the Play-Off Semi-Final against Middlesbrough.

As we approach the Play-Offs, people must know that the pitch is for players and stands for spectators. Our Manager Mark Robins has been extremely vocal about the importance of this and the importance of fans not going on the pitch at any time.

It is against the law to enter the pitch at any time and anyone who does so will face a ban and police action.

Recent pitch invasions have brought football bans, police prosecution and criminal records which can impact employment, education and international travel.

Police and Government have enhanced the scope of Football Banning Orders with pitch invasions and drug taking meaning longer bans at home and abroad.

Entering the pitch could also result in club penalties so do not spoil it for your fellow fans.

The EFL, The FA, Premier League and Clubs are working with the FSA and wider game to help keep football safe.

From fans, to stewards to players, we all have a role to play in keeping each other safe on matchdays.

Let’s protect each other, your Football Club and the game.

Thank you for your co-operation.
