Sky Blues captain Liam Kelly says his teammates can take immense confidence from their remarkable run of form, as they prepare for Saturday's SkyBet Championship Play-Off Final.

Kelly joined City in League Two and has since won promotion to both League Two and League One, and now arrives just one game away from a possible promotion to the Premier League.

Speaking to the media ahead of this weekend's big game at Wembley, Kelly shared his thoughts on the test coming the Club's way.

Looking ahead to the SkyBet Championship Play-Off Final…

“We know how big of a game it is, everyone at the Club does. We don’t sit there and think about it too much. We know where our form has taken us and we are going to give everything we have to try and win the game on Saturday.

“Looking back, our form has been fantastic. To creep into the Play-Offs during the final weeks, we can take confidence from that.

“Not many people expected us to be in that position and we’re going to try and make the very most from it.

“We want that winners' medal around our necks and we will give it our all. It would be fantastic to play in the Premier League.”

On the 2018 Play-Off Final, and what he learned from it…

“I remember it all went really fast. The day flies by and kick-off arrives before you know it.

“We know what we need to do on the day and we need to make sure we’re on the right end of the critical moments, as they will decide the game. Those moments will win or lose us the final.

“There is more attention surroundinWhatsApp Image 2023-05-25 at 12.06.49.jpegg this one but, on a personal level, it is the same for me. One difference is that we were expected to be promoted from League Two, and even in League One. This time around, very few people would have predicted us to get to this position.

“We have got nothing to lose and everything to gain. It will be a great day for the players and the fans.

On Luton Town and the threat they pose…

“They’re a fantastic team who have done really well this season. They are third in the table for a reason. They are one of the best teams in the Championship.”

On his time at Coventry City and his work with Mark Robins…

“The Gaffer really wanted me to come to the Football Club and since then the plans have gone so well.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it here and very few people would have envisaged how far we have come.

“We’re a sleeping giant. That is clear to see given the support we have received over the last few years.”
