INFO: Important advice for fans travelling on Saturday by train

24 May 2023

Please see below information for fans travelling to Saturday's Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final at Wembley Stadium by train:

TRAVELLING TO WEMBLEY BY TRAIN

Fans heading to London by train this weekend have the choice of three operators: Avanti West Coast, West Midlands Trains and Chiltern Trains.

From Coventry, Nuneaton and Rugby, fans have the option of travelling with Avanti West Coast and West Midlands Trains. For those trains that call at Watford Junction, fans are encouraged to change there and catch a local service direct to Wembley Central which is about a 15 minute walk from the station. Those who head into London Euston, have the option of local services back to Wembley Central or the London Underground services to Wembley Park.

Chiltern Trains services run from Birmingham, Warwick Parkway, Warwick and Leamington Spa direct to Wembley Stadium, the station a short walk from the ground. This may be the best option for fans living to the South West of Coventry.

ADVICE FOR FANS TRAVELLING FROM COVENTRY

  • All services are expected to be extremely busy, with fans encouraged to book their tickets in advance where possible.
  • A queuing system will be in place at the station from start of service.
  • Fans should make their way to the ticket office entrance (not the new building) and follow the advice from the station team.
  • Fans are encouraged to arrive at least 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time of their service.
  • All London bound services are expected to depart from Platform 1.

TRAVELLING HOME AFTER THE MATCH

  • Fans are encouraged to make their way back to their return station  (Wembley Stadium, Wembley Central and Euston) as soon as possible after the final whistle.
  • With fewer trains home, fans should avoid aiming to catch the last service home
  • Travel time from Wembley to London Euston is around 45 minutes
  • Those fans still to book tickets, who are able to do so, may want to consider staying over in London and travelling back on Sunday morning when services will be less busy
