Recent Form:

The Sky Blues returned to winning way last time out, when they beat a very experienced Peterborough United side, 2-0 at the CBS Arena.

Goals from Justin Obikwu and Marco Rus saw City take the game away from Posh and give John Dempster's side all three points.

Since then, City have sent several players out on loan, with Marco Rus, Aidan Finnegan, Ricardo Dinanga and Abel Alabi heading out to gain some first team football.

Today's opponents sit 9th in the Southern section of the Professional Development League and are without a win in their last five.

A win for Dempster's side today could see them climb to 5th in the Northern section.

Last Five:

Sky Blues U21 2-0 Peterborough United U21
Sky Blues U21 1-2 Hull City U21
Wigan Athletic U21 1-0 Sky Blues U21
Barnsley U21 1-1 Sky Blues U21
Sky Blues U21 2-0 Birmingham City U21

Previous Meeting:

The two sides last met back in August 2021 at the Coventry Building Society Arena, when City ran-out 2-0 winners.

The Sky Blues fielded a strong eleven, with the likes of Ben Wilson, Jordan Shipley, Jodi Jones and Matty Godden starting from the off.

City took the lead just after the 25th minute mark, after Blaine Rowe’s cross into the box was intercepted initially by Beadle, but his clearance went straight to Shipley who calmly finished into the bottom corner.

The midfielder then turned provider when his set piece wasn’t dealt with by the U’s back line and the ball fell into the path of George Burroughs who fired the ball home!

Sky Blues U23s Xl: Ben Wilson (GK), Blaine Rowe, Declan Drysdale, George Burroughs, Josh Reid, Ryan Howley, Jonny Ngandu (C), Marco Rus, Jordan Shipley, Jodi Jones, Matty Godden.

Unused subs: Luke Bell (GK), Ricardo Dinanga, Aaron Evans-Harriott, Harrison Nee, Fabio Tavares.

Tickets:

Admission for supporters is free, with seating in the West Stand and turnstiles 44-45 open at 1pm.
