LOAN WATCH: Update from the Sky Blues loanees

Victories for Waghorn and Di Trolio...

20 March 2023

There were victories for Martyn Waghorn and Riccardo Di Trolio this past weekend.

It was a vital win for Huddersfield Town and Martyn Waghorn at the bottom of the Championship, as they came away from Millwall with all three points.

Waghorn started the game, but was forced off injured towards the end of the first half, after putting in a shift leading the line for the Terriers.

There has been no update on Martyn's injury yet, but picking up three points at The Den marked a positive weekend for his loan side.

Elsewhere, St Albans City also picked up three points on the road, with Riccardo Di Trolio playing a vital part at the back.

St Albans beat Bath City 3-1 in the National League South, as they closed the gap on the play-off places, with Di Trolio playing the full 90 minutes.

In the Northern side of the division, Tom Costello continued to get some first team minutes for Banbury United.

Costello was introduced into the game after the 70 minute mark, but couldn't find a goal to help Banbury come from behind, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Chorley.

To Ireland and Jay McGrath continues to impress during his loan spell with St Patrick's Athletic, as he started his third consecutive game.

The centre-back was part of the side who came from behind to draw 2-2 with Shamrock Rovers.

In Scottish League One, it was a rare defeat for Falkirk and Blaine Rowe. The young City defender secured another 90 minutes in the tank, but that was left with dissapointmnet when Queen of the South came away with all three points in a 1-0 win.

Finally, there was no action for Julien Dacosta, Josh Reid, Todd Kane or Danny Cashman this weekend for their respective loan sides.
