Despite the wintery conditions across much of the United Kingdom that saw games at multiple levels postponed, five of the Sky Blues' out-on-loan players were in action over the weekend.

Tom Costello made his debut for loan club Banbury United, his first loan move away from the Sky Blues since completing his switch from Wigan Athletic.

Banbury fell to a 3-1 defeat against Buxton with Costello on the field for 76 minutes.

Two of Costello's young City teammates, Jay McGrath and Ricardo Di Trolio, were also in action for their loan Clubs.

McGrath clocked 76 minutes for League of Ireland outfit St Patrick's Athletic as they fell to a 2-0 defeat, while Di Trolio continued his run of 90-minute-long outings in St Albans' 3-2 defeat against Eastbourne Borough.

Martyn Waghorn was unable to prevent his Huddersfield Town side from falling to a defeat against in-form West Bromwich Albion, despite being handed 81 minutes on the field and a starting role by new manager Neil Warnock.

The Terriers are now six points from safety with ten games to play in the SkyBet Championship.

There were also minutes for Julien Dacosta, who has now played four consecutive fixtures for AS Nancy since returning from an injury that hindered his loan stay with Shrewsbury Town.

Nancy were held to a 1-1 draw by Cholet as they looked to build a buffer between themselves and the relegation zone.

Elsewhere, Blaine Rowe was left waiting for his chance to return Falkirk to winning ways after their Saturday fixture was postponed, while Todd Kane remains sidelined with an injury at Charlton.

Meanwhile, both Josh Reid (Stevenage) and Danny Cashman (Altrincham) were unused by their managers as both of their loan Clubs fell to defeats.
