With five of the Sky Blues Under-21s squad heading out on loan last week, three of those made their debuts this past weekend.

Marco Rus joined Chorley in the National League North and was named on the bench for their clash with Curzon Ashton.

The midfielder was introduced into proceedings with Chorley trailing 2-0 in the second half and although he was unable to prevent defeat, he did help provide an assist for Jack Sampson to help Chorley pull one back.

Sticking in the National League North and Tom Costello racked up a full 90 minutes for Banbury United in their 2-1 defeat at home to Banbury United.

Also, in the National League South, Riccardo Di Trolio came off the bench in the 60th minute to help St Alban’s see out a 1-0 win against Dover Athletic.

In the Southern League Premier Division Central, Ricardo Dinanga also came off of the bench in Nuneaton Borough’s draw with Needham Market.

The winger came on in the 70th minute looking to help Nuneaton restore their lead, but the visitors would be forced to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw.

To the National League and Tom Billson returned to Scunthorpe United, for his second loan spell with the club.

Billson was named in the starting eleven for the Iron’s trip to high-flying Notts County and in what was always going to be a difficult task, Scunthorpe suffered a 4-0 defeat at Meadow Lane.

Elsewhere, Falkirk were left frustrated on Friday night, as they were unable to breakdown Kelty Hearts in Scottish League One in a goalless draw.

Blaine Rowe continues to be a mainstay in the Falkirk eleven and he was able to play the full 90 minutes again and help the hosts keep another clean sheet.

Finally, Martyn Waghorn and Huddersfield Town didn’t have a fixture due to the international break. Todd Kane and Josh Reid missed the weekend’s action through injury. Aidan Finnegan was an unused substituted for Alvechurch, whilst Abel Alabi wasn’t in the squad.

Jay McGrath is with the Republic of Ireland Under-21s and Julien Dacosta and AS Nancy play on Tuesday night.
