Sky Blues youngster Ryan Howley was delighted to end his full Championship debut with a win, after his side stormed to a 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

Viktor Gyokeres, Gustavo Hamer and Tyler Walker were all on target for Mark Robins' side.

Howley, 19, made his first start in the Championship and impressed boss Robins during his 70 minutes on the field.

On his full league debut in Sky Blue...

"I couldn't have asked for much more, to be honest. To win 4-0 away from home and keep a clean sheet, it was perfect.

"To play how we did against any side is top drawer and it as great to see Gustavo [Hamer], Viktor [Gyokeres] and Tyler [Walker] get the goals.

"They were great goals, scored by top players."

On what the manager said to him before the game...

"He told me to do what I know I can do and to play my game, which helped.

"I only found out yesterday when he was announcing the team. He put Howley on the board.

We all found out at the same time. He spoke to me afterward too."

On the goals at the John Smith's Stadium...

"I managed to get a touch on the ball in behind for the first goal and I was up there with Viktor for the third goal.

"I didn't get a goal but it was good to be amongst the action.

"I got a yellow card and that's not normally my game. I wanted to put a big challenge in early but getting booked wasn't my plan.

"Adi Viveash told me to keep getting close to players, regardless, but to be careful - so I did that."

On his season so far...

"There was a chance I could leave on loan during January but it did not happen. the 'Gaffer told me we might need me, and we did today. I was so glad to help the team.

"I made my debut against Northampton Town last season, and then I came off the bench away at Forest too. I've been waiting patiently for my chance since then, other than a few minutes against Bristol City.

"We've been doing well this season, so I've just been waiting and training with the lads.

"I was aware that I've never been in a winning side for the first team yet so it was also good to get that done."

On his family and friends cheering him on...

"I told my family and they got some tickets, so they were here. My friends were cheering me on from home, too."

On the rest of the season...

"There is so much quality in this team. People have spoken about the run that we've got and there is every opportunity to get into the play-offs."
