Callum Doyle and Brooke Norton-Cuffy both started as England Under 20s beat Germany 2-0 on Wednesday night.
In a match played at Manchester City's Academy Stadium, Juventus forward Sam Iling-Junior netted in each half to give the Young Lions victory - with his first goal being assisted by Norton-Cuffy's perfectly weighted through ball.
Doyle and Norton-Cuffy were both selected from the start as England's defence kept a clean sheet against their German counterparts.
Manchester City loanee Doyle completed the 90 minutes on the left of a back three while Norton-Cuffy, on-loan from Arsenal, was at right wing-back for 88 minutes before being replaced.
Speaking to the Manchester City website about the clean-sheet, Doyle said:
"That is what defenders want. We went out there, obviously, not to concede, the back-three have done their job well."
The England Under 20s squad will now head to southern Spain, where they will face games against fellow U20 World Cup Finalists USA on Saturday (3pm GMT) and France on Tuesday 28 March (3pm BST).
