Work on Pitch 2 at Ryton has continued at pace over the last seven days.

These photos were taken on Monday 20th March wit work to level the surface ongoing, while the new sprinkler and drainage systems are both being installed.

The new, modern sprinkler system will run at a much greater capacity than the previous irrigation system that was in place.

Work is underway on the drainage system, which will see pipes installed at 6 metre intervals throughout the pitch.

Work to level the surface and create channels for the new systems has seen the excavation of a high number of bricks from below the surface. 

Details of the extensive work and investment in the pitches at Ryton were announced last week, with Pitch 2 the first one to be transformed.
