CLASSICS: Sky Blues 2-0 Huddersfield

We take a look back at the last meeting between the Sky Blues and their Saturday opponents...

2 March 2023

On 28 January 2023, the Sky Blues registered their first home win over Huddersfield Town in over 50 years.

It was goals from Gustavo Hamer and Kasey Palmer that made sure of the win, on a night in which only City looked like taking all three points.

The best chance of the game's early moments saw the Sky Blues catch the visitors on the counter-attack, storming forward for Jamie Allen to slide the ball in for Gyökeres. His shot forced Terriers stopper Bilokapic into a fine stop, which was tipped over the bar.

After the break, City were rewarded for the hard work when Hamer beat several players, played a one-two with Viktor Gyokeres, and found the corner with a stunning effort.

Coventry then doubled their lead moments later with Gyokeres crossing for Kasey Palmer to nod home his third goal at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
