CLASSICS: Hull City 0-1 Sky Blues

We take a look back at a classic meeting between the Sky Blues and Hull City...

9 March 2023

On 30 October 2021, the Sky Blues registered their first win over Hull City in nearly ten years thanks to a first-half header from Matty Godden.

Mark Robins' side were wearing their new 2Tone strip for the first time in the Championship and, after the opening end-to-end exchanges, the Sky Blues went ahead at the MKM Stadium through Godden’s fourth goal of the season.

Viktor Gyökeres collected the ball out wide and cut inside but, before he could get his shot away, Jacob Greaves slid in with a perfectly-timed challenge.

However, the ball went straight to Ian Maatsen who found City's number 24 inside the area.
