NEWS: Sky Blues squad to travel to Portugal for pre-season training camp

28 June 2023

Coventry City will travel to Portugal in July for a pre-season training camp.

The Sky Blues will depart the UK on the second weekend in July and return ahead of being back at Ryton on 17th July.

Mark Robins’ squad will undergo intensive training while out in Portugal, which the Manager views as a key part of the pre-season preparations for the team.

The Sky Blues will also take part in a pre-season friendly, which will be a stadium game played behind-closed-doors with strictly no admission for spectators.

While we understand some reported information about the pre-season trip has been posted on social media by fans, the training sessions are not open to supporters and we request that fans respect this.

Manager Mark Robins said:

“The tour is always an important part of our pre-season preparations for each new season.

“It is a tough week for the players and we put in a lot of hard work on the training pitch, and it will be a very focused environment during the tour. The camp will then conclude with a behind-closed-doors fixture.

“I ask that fans respect this, as neither the training sessions nor the game will be open to fans.

“We look forward to seeing our supporters again at the pre-season games back in England, and of course when the league season gets underway in August.”

There will be full coverage of the tour and match on our website and social media channels.
