Sky Blues boss Mark Robins has confirmed that Fabio Tavares is set to face a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he sustained a ruptured Achilles against Wrexham AFC.
The Sky Blues youngster was handed his second start of the season after a series of exciting substitute cameos but has now been dealt a setback as he faces a spell on the sidelines.
“It looks like he’s ruptured his achilles, so that’s him done this season,” Sky Blues boss Mark Robins has said.
“Really poor in terms of an injury to a young player, he was starting to tick and come through on goal and when he runs in on goal he has a chance.
“It’s really disappointing that he’s picked up that injury, devastating for him and for us in terms of losing a really talented young player.”
