The defender joins the Sky Blues for the rest of the season...

6 January 2023

Brooke Norton-Cuffy became the first signing of the January Transfer Window, as he put pen to paper on a short-term loan deal with the Sky Blues.

The defender joins City from Premier League leaders Arsenal, having spent the first half of the season on loan in the Championship with Rotherham United.

The 18-year-old made 21 appearances in all competitions with the Millers, building on the 17 he made with Lincoln City the year before.

Upon the completion of his loan move, Norton-Cuffy spoke of his delight at joining City and his aims for the remainder of the season.

On getting the move completed…

“I’m over the moon the deal is done to be honest. It’s a new start and a new journey for me and I just can’t wait to get started now.

“The deal came about very quickly; it happened only over the last few days and now I’m just happy to be here.

“I’m delighted and let’s go and win some games.”

Speaking to Mark Robins and aims…

“The Gaffer spoke to me, and he’s told me he wants me to be positive in everything I do and show what I’m capable of.

“I just want to come here and play as many games as possible and win as many games as possible and play to the best of my ability and to try and improve and keep on improving.”

Impressions from City’s clash with Rotherham…

“It’s a great stadium. I walked out onto the pitch and thought how nice it is and the fans were great, and I just thought to myself this would be a good place to come to.”

What he will look to bring to the squad…

“The qualities I will look to bring is being direct with the ball, bring a lot of attacking play and with pace, alongside some creativity and hopefully I can help tidy up the defence and be good in defensive positions.”

Settling in…

“I knew a few of the boys already, which makes things a bit easier, but all the boys are sound, and I think they get on with me quite well so far.”
