The Sky Blues have fallen to a 1-0 defeat against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.
A fast-paced start to the match saw West Brom take the lead through Grady Diangana as the forward tapped home off the back of a long throw.
The Baggies pressed on and kept the Sky Blues under the cosh through until the half-time whistle but the lead remained just one for the hosts.
City looked to pull themselves back in the game with an equaliser but were unable to find one as they left the Hawthorns empty-handed.
Chances were rattled off by both sides to kick-start the game with Daryl Dike heading over for the home side before Viktor Gyokeres responded with a glancing touch that skimmed past the post.
The Baggies continued their early pressure with a rush of chances, the best falling to Jed Wallace but he blazed his effort high and wide.
It was not long after, however, that the hosts took advantage of their strong spell, Grady Diangana bundling home from a long throw to give his side the lead.
Wallace had two more chances before the half, both with real threat to score, but the Baggies attacker was unable to convert.

Baggies substitute Brandon Thomas-Asante looked to challenge in behind after he was introduced to the fray but a marvellous challenge from Luke McNally denied the forward a clear chance on goal.
A triple change by Mark Robins kicked the Sky Blues into gear with Josh Eccles the catalyst down the right flank, creating a couple of chances but unable to find a Sky Blues on the end of it.
A lapse in the West Brom defence created an opening for the Sky Blues as Jamie Allen found Viktor Gyökeres, but the Swede's effort was wide of the mark as they fell short as they left The Hawthorns empty-handed.
