Sky Blues defender Kyle McFadzean marked his return from injury this afternoon, helping his side the a 1-1 draw against Luton Town at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

The 36-year-old was struck down with injury during the World Cup break but has now fought his way back to full fitness, and looked back at his very best against the Hatters.

Tom Lockyer handed the visitors an early lead in Coventry before Matty Godden despatched an equalising penalty, won by Viktor Gyökeres.

Speaking to the media following the draw, McFadzean said:

On the full-time result...

“It was a good game. We started very badly and conceded another rubbish goal. We need to stop conceding goals like that if we want to get up to where we want to be.

“It is probably a good point in the end but we are disappointed. We need to back it up on Tuesday with three points.”

On the early goal conceded...

“I said to the lads, if we are not up for this then we are going to get turned over.

“It caught us off guard. We were not quite ready and it is not good enough. We need to work on that because we got two tough games coming up against Millwall and Rotherham.

On the Club's current league position…

“We have a massive week ahead. If we can get the three points midweek, that will be four points against two tough teams, then we can look forward to Rotherham away. That trip to Rotherham will be another tough one, away from home.

“We want to have a good push. We need to get a couple of back-to-back wins in and we need to do that now.

"We cannot wait, because before you know it the season will be over. It needs to happen now.”

On his return from injury...

“I feel well. I have trained for a couple of weeks now but I have played no matches. I feel fine and just need to recover now and see what happens on Tuesday.

“I would be well up for three games in a week but, obviously, it is not my decision and I have not been back from my injury for long, just two weeks.

"I would like to play again on Tuesday but we will see how it is, it is not my decision. I have a couple days to rest, mind you!”

On Ben Wilson’s late save...

“We were all saying: It's a match-winning save. They are the big moments he needs to come up with because he did not have much to do.

"It was an unbelievable save."
