Mark Robins reiterated how proud he was of his players, after they came from behind to earn a point against Leeds United.
Bobby Thomas headed home his first goal for the Club, as the Sky Blues bounced back from a Summerville strike moments earlier.
Speaking after the final whistle, Robins gave his analysis of the performance at Elland Road.
Thoughts on the game…
“I’m really proud of everyone. When you come to a place like Leeds, in any normal circumstance it’s a difficult game, they’re a Premier League team with Premier League quality and pace.
“On the back of that they played on Tuesday, and we played on Wednesday and they have unbelievable depth and quality and for us to be able to not just hold them but carry a threat in the game I thought everyone should be proud.
“We were backed fantastically by the support, they were vocal and we heard that and felt that and they were brilliant.
“The fact we’ve drawn 1-1, it feels like a win in so many aspects of the game and the fact we’ve been able to put in a performance like that off the back of Wednesday and one less days recovery is credit to them.”
Changes to the side and Bobby drawing City level…
“We’ve scored a really well worked goal, Bobby Thomas’ header is a brilliant goal and its a great ball in from Tatsu and we had other opportunities to score as well.
“We’ve worked really hard, and we had to. We had to change some things and take Milan and Tatsu off and that’s a difficult thing to replace at the moment.
“Jamie Allen tried to do that, Callum was on the right-hand side and Kasey when they switched over and Josh Eccles came to right-wing-back and they made it difficult.
“We kept them down to limited chances, there were a few scary moments, and you can forgive that because of the weight of the ball they had but again to stay in the game like we did and have the opportunities to go on and win the game in the end was impressive.
“We know how good these teams are at times, so to pick up a point here after the way they’ve performed here this season, unbeaten here, was brilliant.
“Credit to them and really proud of them and the support, it was another brilliant point against another relegated team.”
Confidence starting to come through in performances…
“You have to try and do things that make sense to the performance and give everyone a chance. You always have to be mindful of what we’re going to get from the performance.
“Some of the lads haven’t played much football recently because I’ve kept the same team to get that continuity and rhythm for them after the start we had and although we were playing brilliant football the results weren’t there but they’re starting to come.
“You can see the confidence starting to come through. Although Ellis hasn’t scored he’s working hard for the team and hers a threat because his pace and power carry that.
“The energy, work rate and desire were all there and they deserved that today.”
