NEWS: Matchday Guide vs Middlesbrough

11 August 2023

Coventry City host Middlesbrough in the Sky Bet Championship this Saturday, with the matchday guide for our opening home game now available.

The fixture is a 12:30pm kick-off on Saturday 12th August at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Tickets for the game still available, though availability in some areas is now limited.

With a crowd of around 25,000 expected, take a look at the Matchday Guide below…

Fans are urged to plan their journey, arrive early and have their ticket ready on entry.

Please ensure you sit in the seat stated on your ticket.

Sky Blues fans will be able to pay on the day at the Arena at Cash Turnstiles, or from the Ticket Office.

Tickets will be available to buy from the Ticket Office at the Coventry Building Society Arena, which opens at 9:30am and is open until kick-off. This is cashless, with card and contactless payment available.

Sky Blues fans can buy at Cash Turnstiles 30–35 from 10:30am for Sky Blues fans. There is no matchday price increase. Please be mindful that if you arrive at cash turnstiles in the final 15 minutes before kick-off, there is likely to be queues. This is for home supporters only.

For any queries, please click here or call 0333 321 31 34

For all queries on the day, please visit the Ticket Office from 9:30am.

E-tickets for Season Ticket holders were sent out on Thursday for Saturday's game.

The Club communicated last week that Season Cards would not be distributed ahead of the first home game of the season - details here

Some fans will receive theirs earlier than others, as this is a block-by-block process - so don't worry if you see someone has received one and you haven't yet.

Fans can print off their e-ticket or they can scan directly from their phone on entry, though we encourage fans to download their ticket prior to arriving at the Arena.

If you have not received your e-ticket by Friday midday, please contact ticketoffice@ccfc.co.uk
If you have not received your e-ticket on Saturday, please visit the Ticket Office at the Arena - this is open from 9:30am.

Any pre-purchased ticket collections and queries for Sky Blues fans can be made at the Ticket Office from 9:30am up until kick-off.

If your e-ticket or match ticket has not arrived, please visit the Ticket Office.

For any collections, please ensure that you have ID or purchase confirmation.

Remember - for this game, all Season Ticket holders will receive an e-ticket. Season Cards will be dispatched in batches next week.

The Club Shop will be open from 9:30am until kick-off - it will also be open for one hour after the game too.

The Club Shop is still cashless and remains located in the South-East corner of the Arena, with the new Superstore opening soon.

New 23/24 training and leisure wear items are in stock and available, plus a number of new items.

Due to the ongoing industrial action in the form of action short of a strike, West Midlands Trains service on the Leamington – Nuneaton line has been served by bus for the last few weeks. This is set to continue until Sunday.

The hourly bus service will not be sufficient for fans on Saturday, and due to the scale of industrial action, West Midlands Trains will not be able to resource further rail replacement vehicles.

In the interest of safety, the hourly buses will not call at Coventry Arena station for 2 hours pre and post-match, to avoid overcrowding – the bus would only fit 60 fans on, and West Midlands Trains anticipate issues around loading.

Fans are advised to use alternative transport to/from the Arena. More info can be found at wmr.uk/industrialaction.

West Midlands Train apologise for the inconvenience and the short notice.

For live updates and travel info, fans are advised to visit wmr.uk/plan

The Sky Blue Tavern is running return travel from the Tavern in the City Centre to Dhillon's Brewery, close to the Arena, offering fans an alternative to driving to the Arena or other public transport. For details or to book, click here or visit their social media.

Alternatively a range of local buses have stops near to the Arena - you can plan your journey on the Transport for West Midlands website

A new 'On Demand' bus service has been launched - this is a new type of bus service that anyone travelling in the Coventry area can use. It does not follow a specific route. Instead, you book a journey and a bus will pick you up at a time you choose. For more details of this service, please click here.

The M42 between Junction 6 and 7a (Northbound) and Junction 7 and 6 (Southbound) will be temporarily closed for one weekend from 9pm on Friday 11 August until 5am on Monday 14 August.

For more information on the works please visit Transport for West Midlands.

If you are travelling to the match by the M6 please note that junction 3 is likely to be busier than usual due to the M42 closure.

If you are travelling to the match on the M42 please be aware that a diversion will be in place.

All Bars and Kiosks at the Arena are open and are cashless – cash payment is not accepted.

A shuttle bus is available to book from the Tavern over to Dhillon’s Brewery, near to the Arena – with a drink or food option included.

Meanwhile the Fan Zone at Dhillon’s Brewery will also be open on Saturday too from 9am at Unit 14A Hales Industrial Estate, Rowley’s Green Lane (CV6 6AT) – a short walk to the Coventry Building Society Arena for the game.

Hugely popular, it includes a 20-foot TV screen, indoor bar and a covered outdoor seating with room for hundreds of Sky Blues fans, plus DJ Big Smithy playing some great music too! There's a CCFC Sky Blue Army mural, two outdoor screens, extensive food choices and two outdoor mini bars!

Coventry City's Family Zone is back for 2023/24!

The Family Zone activities will be taking place from 10:30am until 11:45am on Saturday for our home game against Middlesbrough, with kick-off at 12:30pm for the Championship fixture.

With the stadium and concourse busier than ever, the Zone is moving outside again - with plans for a permanent retractable canopy to be in place in the coming weeks at the Zone's new home.

The Family Zone will instead be held on the paved area outside the North East corner – this means you will need to visit the Family Zone before you go through the turnstiles, and will not be able to go back out to the activities.

This will be in close proximity to the area outside the East Stand, which is being transformed this season to a fan village with food, drink and music for fans.

In the Family Zone, we will have a range of fun arts and crafts for our young Sky Blues supporters to take part in before the game so you can get creative!

We will also have a free face painter in the Zone from 10:30am to 11:45am and then around the Family Zone turnstiles up until kick-off.

There are also a variety of table games to take part in as well, including Subbuteo and Jenga. The popular tuck shop has been stocked up once again (this is cash only) with food and drink for young fans to enjoy before going into the big game.

There are even more of the free programmes from the past for you to grab as well – but make sure you’re quick because, as always, they are expected to be snapped up really quickly!

Sky Blue Sam's Post Box is back - giving fans the opportunity to write to our mascot or their favourite City player.

Sky Blue Sam will be in attendance too, so make sure you get your high fives and photos with him pre-match. He will also be in the Zone handing out first time fan certificates too!

Fans can again register their attendance at the Family Zone this season and will be able to get rewards for coming to the Family Zone regularly.

So make sure you visit the Family Zone in its new home for the first time this season on Saturday against Middlesbrough and join in the fun pre-match – we look forward to seeing you then!

You can see all of the activities of the Family Zone on social media too:
