Coventry City are delighted to officially reveal the eagerly anticipated 2023/24 away kit!
The stylish new away kit is inspired by the away kit worn by the Sky Blues in the 1996/97 Premier League campaign, and is available to pre-order now at www.ccfcstore.com
The new version of the classic shirt sees a fresh angle to the navy blue and red check design, bringing the retro pattern into the 21st century.
Also the sleeves are in navy blue too, as is the back of the shirt, with the logo of our principal partner King of Shaves adorning the front. Meanwhile, sleeve sponsors XL Motors, back of shirt sponsor Coventry Building Society and back of short sponsor G&R Scaffolding are all displayed.
As part of the Club’s 140th anniversary commemorations, the Bantams crest which was used in the 1950s and early 1960s is incorporated in the neck buggy alongside team photos from the Club’s past.
The original version of the shirt was famously worn by Chelsea for a game at Highfield Road against City, when a clash of colours and no alternative shirt for the visitors saw the likes of Gianfranco Zola and Frank Leboeuf have to wear a Coventry City shirt for one game – in which they would lose 3-1 to Gordon Strachan’s side.
Coventry City’s away kit use Hummel’s ECO8 technology, meaning each shirt is manufactured from high-performing polyester produced from up to eight recycled plastic bottles. This helps both the Sky Blues and Hummel to reduce our carbon footprint and raise sustainability awareness amongst our fans.
Fans can pre-order their kit now, with pre-orders delivered Mid-September. The kit will also be available to buy in stores in Mid-September.
The kit will be worn for the first time this Saturday when Coventry City travel to Swansea City in the Sky Bet Championship.
